Talk to us
Build your company’s next chapter with Datasharp.
We have bought four specialist data companies so far, and we are looking for the next one.
What we would bring to your company.
- Matching, quality control and refresh you could not justify building alone
- Distribution through four companies that already have the customers
- Capital from a group backed for the long term, with no clock on it
- Operators who have run data businesses, not only dealmakers
- A buy-and-build plan where each company makes the rest worth more
What a good fit for us looks like.
- Data that took years to build and cannot simply be scraped
- Business customers who keep renewing
- The clear leader in one specialism, not a good all-rounder in five
- Company, financial, ownership, location, compliance or go-to-market data
- A founder looking for growth, liquidity, succession, or a long-term home
You do not need all five. If two of them sound like your company, write to us and we will tell you honestly what we think.
How the process will go.
Introduction
A conversation with our CEO Antoine, under NDA if that makes it easier. You tell us what you have built, and we will tell you honestly whether we think there is something here.
A shared thesis
Before anything formal, we agree what your company would become inside the group and what that is worth. If we cannot get there together, we say so and stop.
A clear process
You will know the steps, who is involved, and roughly how long each one takes. Nothing gets introduced late, and we do not re-trade what has already been agreed.
The next chapter
Your company joins the group, keeps its name and its team, and gets the platform underneath it.
Things people ask us.
Does our brand survive?
Yes. Every company in the group keeps its own name, its own logo and its own customers. We do not put the Datasharp badge on anyone else's work.
What happens to the team?
They stay. A specialist data business is the people who built it, and buying one without them would not make much sense.
Do I have to be ready to sell?
No. A lot of these conversations start years before anything happens, and plenty never go anywhere at all. That is a perfectly normal outcome, and not a waste of anyone's afternoon.
What kind of deal is this?
That depends on what you want out of it, which is why we would rather ask early than turn up with a structure you never asked for. We will tell you what is possible in the first serious conversation.
What changes after the deal?
Your data goes onto the shared platform and starts reaching markets it could not reach on its own. As far as your customers are concerned, nothing changes.
Is this confidential?
Yes. What you tell us stays with the few people who need to see it, and we will sign an NDA before you share anything you would rather protect.
Thinking about what comes next for your company?
